Visit the Haut-Médoc by bus, bike or on foot…
As one of the only Médoc vineyards directly accessible by bus from Bordeaux, Château Fontesteau welcomes visitors interested in slow travel, a relaxed, mindful and more sustainable way of travelling where the focus is quality over quantity. Here, you can make the most out of the region’s excellent public transport and in turn truly experience the Médoc and its beautiful nature.
Just a stone’s throw from Bordeaux: you will find us just by the stop named ‘Bourg’ in Saint-Sauveur (33250), when you take the Car Régionale (regional bus) No. 703 from Bordeaux centre.
For our more outdoorsy visitors, the region’s many intersecting trails make it perfect for cycling and hiking holidays alike, whether you are a family of six or a solo-adventurer. With nearly 400km of cycle routes in the Médoc, there’s no shortage of choice for routes here.
For walkers who enjoy medieval legends and history, perhaps you will be interested in the Chemin Amadour, a pilgrimage route that passes near to us through Pauillac. The unforgettable 500km trail through the heart of the countryside allows you to reconnect with nature and is not to be missed.
